Holiday Outlook

Holiday Tablets

Experts have used Christmas spending as a great economic indicator that will let us know if the economy is turning around.  The confidence in the public to spend money on higher priced items will tell us if the new year be easier on the middle and lower classes, decrease unemployment, and improve our economic outlook.

Do you think this political cartoon by Joe Heller of the Green Bay Press-Gazette supports the idea of economic growth? What message is the artist trying to make? Can you make any connections to this cartoon?

  1. I wonder why more items that are newer cost much more then the things that are older hard to find now a days then the older things won't be around for along time so why are the newer things more expensive then the older things.?

  2. This picture makes sence to me becasuse they raise the prices on items that they know peolpe will want to buy. Why does it pay to buy any electronics if they come out with a better version then the older version?

  4. Dakota the newer things cost more money because they are brand new and has ever been used before so they cost alot of money and the old ones cost less because they have been used before that why people trade them in to get new ones instead the ones they have.

  7. I think you all miss the fact that those are credit card bills in the last frame. Does spending more money using credit cards mean our economy is getting better, or we are just putting ourselves in a bigger hole of debt?

    1. Good one. Who pays for the games? Why do people buy what they can't afford? Peer pressure?
