Plastic surgery to stop bullying?
Doesn't that mean the bullies win?
We have been discussing bullying throughout the past few months, and we all agreed that parents need to play an important role in helping their kids deal with bullying. We read about parents that picketed the school, confronted the bullies themselves, and one even attacked the bullies on a bus. The following covers an issue that was missed in all of our research. It seems like the issue of bullying, and how to deal with it, has evolved throughout the years into a complex ordeal that may require drastic measures to reach a solution. A recent current event assignment that was handed in to me contained a blog by Andrea Bennett, published on August eighth of this year. Check out her blog by clicking on her name. Is plastic surgery a possible solution?
Watch the CNN video to get the whole story of 14 year old Nadia Ilse being interviewed by Sanjay Gutal. You might agree she looks better. I do, but at what cost. I'm not talking about $40,000 price tag for the surgery.
Is this a parenting problem or a sample of how society has molded our perceptions? Maybe you are comfortable with this idea. Tell me what you think.
-Mr. Kohl
I beleive it is submiting to the bully but if you are in extreme danger and you can't get it to stop it's OK
ReplyDeletei dont ever think that it is right to do plastic surgery because of bully's.
DeleteI agree. This video shows a girl that was so hurt by the bulling she didnt like her aperance anymore. I think that she should have stood up for herself and she should have told herself that how she looks is the way she was born and every body is different. She should be accepted for who she is.
DeleteI think that this type of bullying will get more and more serious. I don't think people shouldn't make fun of other people and the way they look. This type of bullying is like bullying other people because of their race.
ReplyDeleteDo we have society where you can't be happy with who you are? Maybe this is why some many relationships struggle. In the past I'm not sure tolerance was ever taught as much as it was inferred. People don't tolerate flaws in anyone anymore.
ReplyDeleteHow can kids even think of plastic sugery? Sometimes I wonder what goes thru some kids minds.
ReplyDeletekids don't need plastic sugery
ReplyDeleteIt really must have been so many kids bullying her so much that she would really consider getting platic surgery. Does this kinda mean the bullys won?
ReplyDeleteAlly has a strong question! I don't think the bullies win but they should fell sorry for the people he/she hurt. I agree with tolerate flaws for Mr.Kohl because tolerate is a big word to me.
